Clear Channel Singapore’s managing director Telly Tan resigns

by Asiya Bakht    17-Dec-09, 11:12

SINGAPORE - Clear Channel Singapore has announced the resignation of its managing director Telly Tan.

Tan’s announcement has triggered a corporate restructure that will see sales director Henry Goh leave the company after six years. Goh was previously general manager of Capital City Posters.

Mark Thewlis (pictured), regional president for Clear Channel in Asia-Pacific, said: “Tan’s departure has provided the catalyst to adjust our management structure to meet the needs of the business in these most challenging times. As a result of these changes, we will remove the current sales director role. The new CEO, once appointed, will handle these duties. A search is now underway for an appropriate person to fill the new, broader role.”

Previously managing director of Pearl & Dean, Tan joined Clear Channel in 2003 to run the advertising concession at Changi Airport. He was promoted to managing director in November 2003.

On his departure, Tan said: “It has been seven years of fond memories; of colleagues, bosses, friends and associates. I cannot thank enough all the people who have helped sew this tapestry of life that occupies a permanent spot in my mind.”

Thewlis said that he would like to thank Tan for his "outstanding dedication" to Clear Channel Singapore. "He has devoted himself to the success of our business and should be proud of his long list of achievements. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours."
