SHANGHAI - Publicis Groupe's Vivaki is believed to have won L'Oreal's digital agency pitch in China, ahead of GroupM’s Mindshare Interactive.

The French cosmetics brand called the pitch in September

Meanwhile, L'Oreal is relieved to have retained GroupM and ZenithOptimedia as its agencies-of record for its China TV business after its recent media agency review.

GroupM and ZenithOptimedia have been sharing the TV business on a 50/50 basis for the past two years. Industry source have suggested that ZenithOptimedia’s share of the account has increased following the pitch.

The news comes as L’Oreal pitches its media business market by market as part of a two-year mandatory review.

In June Nihon L'Oreal retained Universal McCann as its media agency-of-record in Japan, after a pitch that also involved Dentsu, Hakuhodo and Asatsu-DK.

Sources have said L'Oreal is expected to announce a media pitch for Hong Kong in early December.

Vivaki is part of Publicis Groupe, which also includes media agencies ZenithOptimedia and Starcom, as well as digital agencies Digitas and Razorfish.
