by Kenny Lim    30-Oct-09, 16:05

SYDNEY - Brent Stewart (pictured), Synovate's current chief of Australia and New Zealand, has been appointed to a new global role as CEO of strategic units.

In this role, Stewart will oversee business units in Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, China, Japan, Latin America, Iberia and North and South Asia.

He will also continue to be CEO of global business planning for Synovate.

Meanwhile, Mike Cassidy has been appointed as managing director of Synovate’s Australian research business, effective January 2010.

Cassidy, who will take over from Julie Beeck, has been with Synovate for four years since opening the Melbourne office in 2005.

Beeck will continue to play a senior role in the business in Australia, managing and developing key client relationships and supporting the growth of talented researchers.

In August, Synovate appointed Robert Philpott as its global chief executive officer.
