SYDNEY - Publicis Groupe has launched its strategic media arm Vivaki and digital agency Digitas in Australia.

The launch of Vivaki comes a month and a half after the unit’s New Zealand launch and will be headed in Australia by Starcom Australasia chairman Kevin Malloy.

Digitas, meanwhile, will be run by the former managing director of Carat Sydney Mandy Henry, and Nicolas Guillemot from Digitas Paris has been appointed Digitas Australia’s general manager.

According to a Publicis Australia spokeswoman, several global clients already working with Publicis will extend their relationship to Vivaki and Digitas Australia.

Among Digitas’s key global clients are American Express, Disney, General Motors, IBM and Intercontinental Hotels Group.
Vivaki launched in June of last year to develop advertising tools to be used by Publicis agencies and has since been rolled out in the Iberian Peninsula, India, Russia and the UK.
