SINGAPORE - Mirror Group Newspapers, one of the world’s biggest news group and a leader in football content has announced a partnership with Singaporean telco StarHub to launch a football news channel on mobile - Mirror Football - in Singapore.

The deal represents a first for Mirror Group Newspapers to partner a mobile operator to offer football content.

StarHub Mobile post-paid customers can now access Mirror Football content for free to get insights and videos on the Barclays Premier League, the Champions League and Europa Cup football tournaments plus transfer/game news and gossip. No subscription or local data access will be charged.

In August, StarHub Mobile launched a social networking value-added service which allows its customers unlimited local access to Windows Live Messenger and Facebook from mobile devices.

Separately, StarHub today announced that it has reached an agreement with Apple, to distribute the iPhone in Singapore, becoming the last of the three telcos here to offer the gadget after M1 and SingTel.
