Hong Kong Disneyland calls creative pitch

by Benjamin Li    7-Jul-09, 12:10

HONG KONG - Hong Kong Disneyland is holding a statutory five-year review of its creative business.

Sources close to the pitch said that the client will send requests for credentials to two or three agencies. McCann Worldgroup has confirmed it will join the pitch. Grey and Leo Burnett, two agencies tipped to take part, have stated that they will not participate.

Ogilvy & Mather is the incumbent creative agency and Rapp handles the below-the-line activities on the account.

“The scope of the account is quite substantial, though the client may give the whole business to one agency or divide it into different projects which will be shared by different agencies,” the source added.

Walt Disney and the Hong Kong government recently reached a deal to expand Hong Kong Disneyland theme park at an estimated cost of US$465 million. The construction for the expansion project is expected to start this year.
